Another year over and another great day at the miners Gala. The Gala has now been running for 142 years and is still a major event for the local mining communities in the North East and many other parts of the country. At one point it seemed to be in decline when I first started attending but over the years its really started picking up again with thousands lining the streets of Durham to cheer the Banners and the Brass bands as they march past to the cricket field.
Once again Trimdon Grange Colliery Banner was accompanied by Harrogate Brass Band, being one of the first onto the field and one of the last to leave!
